What is Robotics and Mechatronics? Mechatronics and Robotics are the study of mechanical systems that are directly controlled by electronics, computer systems and intelligent, learning computer systems.
What things will I cover at University? Most courses will consist of electronics, mechanical systems, computer programming and industrial practice.
BEng or MEng? You should check that courses are accredited by IMechE and the IEE.
Possible Careers? A qualified graduate would be looking to most of the industrial sectors for employment. Transport, Automotive Industry, Entertainment Industry, Healthcare, Research and Development and many other applications. You may end up designing and testing new systems and robots for remote medical surgery, working with NASA to design new ways of space exploration or even working on Artificial Intelligence Systems for humanoid robots.
