Design task – using 2D Design. Design a table based upon a theme.

Recap basic functions of ProD8 and start advanced tutorials including Drawing, Album and assembly functions.

Cut out the parts with the laser cutter. Assembly, finishing and evaluation.

3D design project (4 lessons) Design a hand held electronic device on ProD8, render and orthographic projections.

 

4   24-9-07 to 28-9-07

Select a product and research its design and manufacture.  Produce a PowerPoint  presentation to explain why the chosen material was used.

Modern Manufacturing Systems, CAM and Robotics in Industry. Based around the automotive industry. (Jaguar)

CNC – machines. Advantages and disadvantages. The Vertical Miller and the lathe. Setting up for milling. Holding the work. Design using Mill Design and Mill a piece of MDF

The Design Process, Modelling. Double lesson making ergonomic styrofoam models.

Complete the Milling design and then design using the Lathe software and turn a dowel design.
