Complete the initial design ideas of your casing and then develop in detail four  other designs showing realistic and achievable options.

This is the stage you should be at when you return to school in September

2   10-9-07 to 14-9-07

Complete four designs and show how the circuit board can fit inside the case.

These must be detailed and contain a 3D drawing.

3   17-9-07 to 21-9-07

Compare  your designs with the casing specification and select one as being the most appropriate choice and state why.

Allow for the fixing of the board in the case. Make sure that you have an  On/Off switch.

4   24-9-07 to 28-9-07

Research the Materials required for your case, and the processes required to make it.

5  1-10-07 to 5-10-07

.  Plan out the sequence of events to making the casing of your design, include time estimates.

Assessment up to this point.

6 8-10-07 to 12-10-07

Thursday 11^th. October Grade Order marks entered

Make models of the casing to check that all will fit together. Cardboard or Styrofoam.

Check to make sure that the design is ergonomically sound.

7  15-10-07 to 19-11-07

 Half – Term next fortnight

Produce working drawings of the parts to your design – Orthographic Projections. Request materials and begin making.

Any parts to be cut out using the laser cutter, must be drawn using 2D Design.

8  5-11-07 to 9-11-07

Pro Desktop or Techsoft 2D Designs. Photograph the tools and processes you use during the making of your  casing

Remember allow at least 3 weeks for the painting of your project if you are using MDF or wood.

9  12-11-07 to 16-11-07

Making – documentation – Full planning showing evidence of planning before making begins. Estimate time allowed for each part of the making process and state what tools, materials and other resources you require. This section must appear it will cost you marks if it is omitted

Making should be fully completed now and photographs should be taken of your device in use.

Keep the documentation up to date- record of making.

Mock Examinations begin 18^th. Jan until Friday 25^th. Jan

Check the sequence of making in your planning corresponds with the way you actually made your construction. Modify if necessary.

Week leading up to half - term

Full testing procedure – with photographs of your construction in use. Evaluate using feedback from the user.

19 18-2-08 to 22-2-08

Full comparison of your finished design with the Specification.

Any suggested modifications considered after testing and after receiving the views of others. Assessment up to this point.

Work will be assessed here and if you are not up to date Parent’s will be contacted  expressing our concern about  you not completing your Coursework by the deadline at the end of Term.
